Accessibility Ministry

The Accessibility Ministry exists to provide a gospel-centered, inclusive environment for all people. We seek to partner with individuals and families as they participate in the life of the church to ensure access needs are met.

Children’s Ministry Accessibility Needs

We want to help any child with physical, mental, behavioral, medical or emotional needs that would benefit from additional support in order to fully participate in the life of our church.

When beneficial, we use a buddy system where the student is matched with an adult “buddy” who will provide individual care in a classroom of peers. Buddies may be provided for weekend worship services and church-wide events.

Children's Accessibility Needs FAQs

Do I need to contact the church prior to attending in order to have a buddy available?
While it is not required, it can be helpful. You can email our Accessibility Ministry Deacon, Kaitlyn Hazlewood, at khazlewood@redemptionstory.com to let her know you are coming, ask any questions, and let us know any needs your child might have.
What Does a Buddy Do?
Buddies simply act as a helper/facilitator. They are an extra volunteer who helps when and to the degree necessary. The primary goal of our buddies is to provide an environment where your child can hear the gospel in a way that is clear and accessible to them.
For what ages are buddies provided?
We can provide a buddy for children ages 0-18.
Besides a buddy, what other supports are available?
We would be happy to meet with your family to discuss what is needed and develop an appropriate plan/supports based on individual needs.

Adult Accessibility Needs

If we can make a change or accommodation in order to make our church service/events more accessible for you, please reach out to our Accessibility Ministry Deacon, Kaitlyn Hazlewood, at khazlewood@redemptionstory.com. We would love to develop a plan to improve access.
