Care

We believe part of our mission to love God, love others, and make disciples of Jesus Christ includes applying the wisdom from Scripture to one another’s lives.  We recognize there will be times of more intense suffering and struggle, and the church is called to bear burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ (Gal 6:2).

Care at Redemption Story Church, is born out of a desire to bring Jesus Christ’s life, death, and resurrection to bear on the hurting and afflicted.  We know that our suffering on this side of eternity comes from a broken world, the sins we’ve committed, or the sins committed against us.  As we desire more and more to grow into the image of Jesus Christ, Care at RSC is a specific way we can have the gospel speak loudly to our sins and sufferings.

When special circumstances require help beyond the other places of ongoing discipleship in the body, including Community Groups, we want to help those in need consider other steps of care. This might include connecting you to a trusted professional counselor, meeting with a pastor or church leader, or helping equip those in your community to walk with you as you seek the Lord in your particular struggle.

We also put a high value on having an advocate serve you as you seek help. An advocate is someone who stands in the gap for a friend or loved one in their time of need. They pray, provide helpful information, insights, and questions, take good notes, and care for and walk with their friend or loved one after formal care ends.

If you would like to be connected with our Care Department for help, please contact us using one of the contact forms below. Additionally, please read through, complete, and bring this Care Agreement to your first meeting.

Premarital Mentoring

Marriage was created by God for the display of His glory and for the joy of His creatures. A godly marriage involves the purposeful effort of two people moving toward a healthy union with each other and with Christ. Because this takes effort and intentionality, we strongly encourage engaged couples to supplement their marriage preparation through formal premarital mentoring relationships.

  • Apply online at least six months before your wedding date. (Note: Both partners must complete separate intake forms.)

  • If we are able, we will assign a marriage mentor couple to you. We ask that couples meet with their marriage mentors at least eight times.

  • Upon registration confirmation, we ask that you order two copies of Catching Foxes by John Henderson. The cost is $15.

If you are unable to meet with a marriage mentor couple, then we encourage you to meet with a biblical counselor for at least six sessions.
