Our Mission

The mission of StoryKids is to partner with parents to faithfully teach children the redemption story and disciple them to love God and love people. StoryKids is not a place where we make much of ourselves or our “stories,” but instead is a place where we want to teach over and over again God’s Big Story of redemption found in Scripture. Visit our Family Discipleship page for weekly resources!

StoryKids | Preschool

StoryKids Preschool consists of children ages six-weeks through Kindergarten. Each class is tailored to the developmental needs of that particular age. We teach the Bible chronologically every year to each age group.

Our baby room is a prayer ministry. Volunteers consistently pray out loud for children to one day know, love, trust, and obey Jesus.

Our one-year-old room is where we start teaching the Bible. They play a lot, sing and dance to Jesus centered songs, hear from the Bible using pictures, and color of course!

Our two-year-old room is similar in structure to our one-year-old room, but we incorporate twice as many Bible stories and more hands-on activities to facilitate their imagination.

Our three-year-old through Kindergarten classes are all tailored similarly. They play and participate in intentional activities that help make connections to the Bible story, sing, dance, hear from the Bible, complete a craft that engages different learning styles, and memorize Scripture. Our Kindergarteners are given specific instructions on the first steps of how to use and read their Bibles.

All of our preschool-aged classes point to five foundational truths we want our kids to remember. Those truths are: God Made Everything, God is Good, God is in Charge of Everything, Jesus came to Save Sinners, and God Wants to Talk with Us. If everything we do in class time helps our children learn and know these truths, we are thankful.

StoryKids | Elementary

StoryKids Elementary consists of elementary-aged students from first grade through fifth grade. This ministry is small-group-based, with time each week in a larger group setting to hear from the Bible. Instead of the one-year scope and sequence we use in our Preschool ministry, our elementary students learn from a three-year scope and sequence. They learn the redemption story chronologically, as well as other concepts such as worship, prayer, and the church. In small-group, they spend time reading from the Bible and talking through questions related to that week’s key point. In addition, they learn what it looks like to confess sin and struggles with peers, memorize Scripture, the mechanics of prayer, and what it means to be sent to their neighbors and the nations.
